Steering Committee for 4th International Symposium on Stock Enhancement and Sea Ranching

Membership of this committee is being developed and will include members from industry, government and Universities. The roles and responsibilities are to:

  • Encourage participation in China in the Symposium by scientists, industry, managers, and government officials though a network of organisations that include and Universities, Research Institutes, Fishing Industry and Government.
  • Raise funds for the Symposium to support the involvement of three or four key-note speakers, the Chair of the International Scientific Committee and to fund a banquet, specifically for participants in the Symposium.
  • Develop mechanisms to enhance the Chinese participation in the Symposium e.g. if necessary, providing support to Chinese participants for preparing their oral or poster presentations; providing advice to the International Scientific Committee on people from China to co-chair Themes and make oral presentations; Providing advice to the International Scientific Committee (ISC) on topics of special interest to China.
  • Develop a program of post-conference technical tours for conference participants to see large scale operations of stock enhancement and sea ranching
  • Provide advice on the overall structure and content of the Scientific program to the ISC.

The Steering Committee is co-chaired by Dr Wang Qingyin of the Yellow Sea Fisheries Institute and Professor Neil Loneragan of Murdoch University, Australia
